The foundation date of the plant is 1st August 1988 when the Grodno Repair and Engineering Plant was established in conformity with disposition of the USSR Ministry on Manufacturing of Mineral Fertilisers. In the course of its existence the enterprise was included into the Grodno Agrochemical Association specialising in manufacturing of spare parts to chemical compressor and pumping equipment.
Due to transfer of the enterprise into the ownership of the Republic of Belarus, being under the authority of the State Committee of the Republic of Belarus on Industry and Inter-Branch Manufacture as well as due to alteration of the goals and the subject of activity the enterprise was renamed to the “Grodno Engineering Plant”. Since 1993 the plant is under the authority of the Committee on Oil and Chemistry at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus and since 1997 it was included into the Belarussian State Concern on Oil and Chemistry “Belneftekhim”. The OAO “Grodno Engineering Plant” is the only in Belarus manufacturer of tankers, trailers and semitrailers, cisterns for transportation and temporary storage of light oil products and crude oil, liquified hydrocarbon gases, food and aggressive liquids as well as insulated tankers of various destination.
The distinctive feature of the enterprise is that it manufactures not only serial products, but alo fulfills nonstandard one-of-a-kind orders creating capacity equipment with extra specified properties and functons. Moreover, the OAO “Grodno Engineering Plant” manufactures the composite triboengineering material of enhanced wearing capacity “Fluvis” applicable in chemical, electrical engineering, light industry, machine building and instrument making. Moreover, what concerns wearing ability, they even surpass foreign analoges.
Over the 20 years more than 40 own developments have been created at the OAO “Grodno Engineering Plant”. Today the enterprise produces nearly all the range of tankers for transportation of light oil products on the chassis of motor vehicles, trailers and semitrailers GAZ, MAZ, MZKT. Besides it, manufacture of special-purpose automotive engineering for the RUP “PO “Belarusneft” on the MAZ chassis – these are the tankers for transportation of drilling agents, hot water and other liquids. Manufacture of tanker-semitrailers on a bearing structure has been started. The OAO “Grodno Engineering Plant” plans to completely go over to construction with a bearing tanker (cistern) which will enable to refuse from purchase of chassis and to acquire only the axes and the braking equipment. The first steps in this direction has already been made – this is a tanker-semitrailer PPTsZ-20 for transportation of liquified hydrocarbon gases with a volume of 20 m3. A first sample of a tanker-semitrailer for transportation of of light oil products with a volume of 30 m3 has been manufacture which is now taking tests. A tanker-semitrailer for transportation of liquified hydrocarbon gases with a volume of 36 m3 has been designed and its manufacture has already started. Production of vessels for storage of liquified hydrocarbon gases for GAZS with a volume of 10 m3 and other vessels working under pressure has been mastered.
